Kenneth Aguilar Bio

My name is Kenneth Aguilar. I was born and live in Santo Domingo Pueblo, New Mexico. Santo Domingo Pueblo is one of the nineteen Pueblo Indian Nations of New Mexico.
I have been making Native American jewelry in the Pueblo style for twenty-five years. I originally learned how to make jewelry from my parents. My father in his days traveled through different states selling jewelry. Today, I see the value in what he did and I carry out my profession in like fashion.

I attended the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and presently work out of my home.

I work with a number of stones that come in from different countries. Some of these are Gaspeite, Lapis, Coral, Sugulite, Opal and Turquoise, which comes from Arizona, Nevada and New Mexico.

I also do inlaid work on shells such as Spiney Oyster combined with colorful stones and silver.

I sell my works locally and nationally to museums and stores, and hold exhibitions at Native American jewelry shows.
